Spend an autumn afternoon at one of the Eastern Shore's most remarkable historic homes as Shore History presents an engaging lecture on General John Cropper—Revolutionary War hero, military leader, statesman, and the man who called Bowman's Folly home.

Historians Dennis Custis and Dr. David Scott will share the fascinating story of Cropper's extraordinary life, from his military service during the American Revolution to his role in shaping Virginia and the young United States. Discover how this Eastern Shore patriot defended the Chesapeake, served in government, and left a lasting legacy that deserves to be remembered.

Prior to the lectures on the lawn, the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will dedicate and unveil a DAR marker at the grave site of General Cropper.  The marker, given by a DAR member and descendent of General Cropper, recognizes and honors his service and sacrifices  during the American Revolution.
