In the vein of its previous popular Music on the Lawn events, the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society will host an all-you-can-eat crab feast to showcase the Shore’s agricultural and aquacultural bounty to the tunes of the Crawdaddies, an East Coast roots-rock band that serves up a blend of Cajun, zydeco, and reggae. Taylor Bank presents the fest, and Accomack County Farm Bureau is sponsoring the band.
On the menu:
Crab & Shrimp Boil with Sweet Corn and Potatoes
Beer (3 beers included with purchase of ticket - additional available for purchase)
Wine (2 glasses included with purchase of ticket - additional available for purchase)
The event will serve as a fundraiser for the reconstruction of the dock, piers, and bulkhead at Onancock’s Hopkins & Bro. store, which is owned by the Historical Society. One boat slip there is available for public mooring, and rental of the other four slips benefits the Historical Society.
Additional sponsors include Coastline Chemical, Inc. and the Kerns family.
Other contributors are: Edwards Seafood; August Boys Barbecue; Mt. Nebo Farms; David Mason; Dublin Farms; Shore Farm Market; J.C. Walker Bros.; Wendell Distributing Co.; The Island House; and Beracah Homes.
Tickets for the event are $50 each and can be purchased on this website under the ticket sales tab. Tickets will be mailed if purchased by Aug. 12. If purchased online after that, tickets will be held at will call. Tickets also are on sale by phoning 757.787.8012; at the Book Bin in Onley; Ker Place, 69 Market St., Onancock; or at the Dogwood Branch consignment shop, 4 North St. Onancock.
