Second showing of the movie To Kill a Mockingbird at Roseland Theater .
At 9:15 Mary Badham will take questions and talk about the movie.

Morning Session Option One
Teacher Session
10 - noon
The session, led by Michele Whitaker, will use materials created by the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read to teach To Kill a Mockingbird. $10. Free to teachers & parents of homeschool students.
Morning Session Option Two
Book Club Sessions (3 options)

These informal book club-style groups will be led by Lenore Hart, Sheri Reynolds and David Lozell Martin, three authors of national reputation, and held in libraries of local homes. This session is open to individuals and to book club groups. Location addresses will be mailed upon registration. $10.

Local historians and residents will discuss life on the Eastern Shore during the Jim Crow Era/ Great Depression. Moderator: B. Drummond Ayres Jr. (former New York Times correspondent and editor).

Panelists: Dennis Custis (historian), Kentoya Garcia (teacher and historian), and Jesse Poulson (retired teacher).

Afternoon Session One
1st Movie Showing at the Roseland Theater

First showing of the movie To Kill a Mockingbird at Roseland Theater; primarily for students but all are welcome.
At 5:00 Mary Badham will talk to audience after film.

Readings from To Kill a Mockingbird

Local actors from Onancock's North Street Playhouse will give dramatic readings of passages from To Kill a Mockingbird. Free.
Below is the list of events and activities throughout the day. Choose the events you would like to attend. You must fill out a registration form if you're attending any part of the event, including free sessions. Online registration will close as of Friday, September 27, 10 a.m. Panel discussion, readings, and both movie showings still have seats available. All other sessions are FULL and CLOSED. Walk-ins will be allowed if seating is available after registered guests have been accommodated(fees collected at the door by cash and check made out to ESVHS only). Mary Badham (Scout) will speak and autograph books and photographs. Attendance is Free but Mary does charge $20 to sign a photograph (which she supplies) or a book (which you will have to supply). If you want to order a copy of novel for Mary to sign, please call the Book Bin (757-787-7866). The Book Bin will have a booth at Ker Place and your book will be waiting for you at lunchtime on Saturday.
